You are a student of the Bible. This is the most important book you will read in your life. It is important that we know what it says so that we can better know God and His will. Remind yourself that this is the Word of God before you begin reading it.
Remember, God said in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, "16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work." (NLT)
I encourage you to print out the outline we have provided, but if that is not possible, you can type it out or write your own.
Step 1: Pray before reading and/or studying Scripture.
Step 2: Read the passage laid out in your outline.
Step 3: Meditate on what it is saying.
Step 4: In one sentence or thought, summarize the passage you read.
*DO NOT USE THE HEADINGS FOUND IN YOUR BIBLE. This is a time for you to wrestle with and meditate on the text. The outline for week one of harmonizing the gospels is due May 6th.
