State of The Bold Movement Address

An Open Letter About Where
We Are
and Where We Are Going

Friends,

The year 2023 was characterized by extensive planning, trial and error, beta testing, and a process of self-discovery. It was a year that our 5-year-old selves desperately needed as we grappled with the question, "Who are we and where do we go from here?" Our primary focus throughout the last 12 months has been on The Bold Movement Academy. I am truly grateful for the blessings that this project has brought. We have witnessed women from various parts of the country experience growth in both their confidence and understanding of the Word. We are eagerly anticipating the outcome now that we have successfully launched the complete Academy to a global audience.

In regards to The Academy, the year 2023 witnessed the following events:

  • We have graduated our first cohort of 8 women!

  • The gospel has been shared over 175 times.

  • 17 baptisms have taken place from our students and teachers.

  • 24 students are currently enrolled in the Academy.

We chose to limit our speaking engagements and conferences in order to thoroughly address the matters that were previously discussed. We attended several events, including the renew.org conference, the discipleship.org conference, the Spire Women's event, and ICOM. We had the opportunity to speak at a few churches and formed strong connections with the women there. We have almost sold out of all our merchandise and have not placed any new orders due to the upcoming 2024 plan, which you will learn about shortly. Our podcast, Talk Bible to Me, went on a hiatus because our co-host Emily had a baby.

This year provided us with a wonderful opportunity to slow down and savor each moment. In 2024, we are starting off with great momentum, and I am eagerly anticipating the opportunity to share our exciting plans with you.

The 2024 Plan

Earlier this year, I had a strong conviction that God was calling me to be the shoulders for other women to stand on. I understand that this may not appear to be a major issue to you, but it will greatly affect The Bold Movement and my role within it. After engaging in prayer and seeking wise counsel, I am confident that this is what God wants for me. It was a mixture of relief and burden, with a humble pie thrown in (more details on that to come later this year). Due to this newfound purpose, I desired our logo to accurately represent our mission and serve as a constant reminder of God's plans for both myself and TBM.

You might have noticed that the letter "D" in the word "BOLD" of our new logo has been partially truncated at the top. The "D" in our logo, much like our ministry, represents a space where the "movement" (or woman in ministry) can find refuge and rest. I am not called to become the next famous women's minister; instead, this desire God has placed in my soul is to fill your cup that I know so often can desperately need to be filled. The Bold Movement's calling is to be a reassuring and understanding presence for women when they face challenges and setbacks in their ministry. We are your ally and cheerleader; championing you as you spread the gospel and strive to make Christ known. We are rooting for you.

Our Main Focus

Our main priority this year is to provide you with the necessary tools and resources to support you in your ministry. Get ready for more Bible Studies, including one that we're currently wrapping up and can't wait to share with you. Additionally, we'll be providing you with engaging blogs, podcasts, various resources, and informative emails. Stay tuned for all the exciting content! I don't want to reveal too much at this moment, but I want you to know that we have been putting in a lot of effort to establish ourselves as the primary source for ministry resources.

That being said, our primary focus is on the Bold Movement Academy, where we are currently dedicating a significant amount of effort. In the year 2024, a total of 60 women have registered for classes from 6 different churches in 3 countries. If you would like to add your church to the list or learn more about the Academy, please reply to this message and email me. I would enjoy discussing it with you.

We cannot do this without you.

If you're in, we ride at dawn.
